FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method to detect characteristics and border of stable compressor operation within a gas turbine engine, according to which for displacement of a point of joint compressor and turbine operation in the compressor curve to the border of stable operation, the working fluid is introduced into the combustion chamber of the investigated engine. The working fluid is supplied to the inlet of the combustion chamber. The device to determine characteristics and the border of stable compressor operation within the gas turbine engine comprises a source of a working fluid. The working fluid source is connected to the inlet cross section of the combustion chamber of the gas turbine engine with a pipeline, where a throttling gate valve is installed.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of determination of characteristics and border of stable compressor operation in a system of a gas turbine engine under minimum material costs and without negative effects at elements of an investigated engine.
