FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composite material which contains formaldehyde-free binder and a substrate which is mineral wool. The binder contains at least one polysaccharide and at least one cross-linking substance. The cross-linking substance is selected from an adipic/acetic mixed anhydride, epichlorohydrin, sodium trimetaphosphate, sodium trimetaphosphate/sodium tripolyphosphate and phosphorus oxychloride, polyamide-epichlorohydrin cross-linking agents, anhydride-containing polymers, cyclic amide condensates, zirconium and titanium complexes, adipic acid dihydrazide, N,N'-methylene bis-acrylamide, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, ethylene glycol diacrylate, dianhydrides, acetals, polyfunctional silanes, blocked aldehydes, polycarboxylates, boron compounds and combinations thereof. The polysaccharide is non-amylose starch, low-amylose starch or non-starch polysaccharide, selected from a group consisting of guar gum, alginates, hydroxypropyl cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose. The composite material is obtained by depositing formaldehyde-free binder onto the substrate and hardening the binder.

EFFECT: binder has low viscosity and long working life, and can harden at neutral pH, which eliminates corrosion problems.
