SUBSTANCE: unlocking tool for a protective device has a housing, a magnet, a motor and an antenna for a protective marker. The housing has a socket. The motor moves the magnet relative the socket. Movement of the magnet provides a magnetic field for unlocking the protective device. A protective device is identified when realising the protection method. Magnetic field strength of the device is determined. Magnetic field is provided in a defined region. The protective device is placed in said region for unlocking. The protective system has a plurality of protective devices, a point-of-sale terminal and an unlocking tool. Each protective device is denoted by one of a plurality of hierarchical security levels. The point-of-sale terminal identifies the security level of the device. The unlocking tool provides a magnetic field in the unlocking region. Magnetic field strength depends on the defined point-of-sale terminal of the security level.
EFFECT: making unauthorised removal of a protective device difficult.
