SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gear-cutting tools, particularly, to modular hobs built around involute worm with positive face angles to be used for cutting spur gears with higher precision of tooth working side profile. Hob comprises teeth with flat face surface and rectangular cutting edges. Hob tooth face surface plane is located tangentially to involute worm main cylinder. Face angle magnitudes are defined subject to involute worm main cylinder radius and hob tooth point radius.
EFFECT: higher precision.
