FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: ordered symbol statistics decoder is designed to decode binary codes based on use of a method of breaking up allowed code combination space into clusters or lists. For reliable determination of the a cluster number, an additional cluster number protecting system is introduced through parity check of symbols making up the cluster number. Decoding is carried out based on two procedures: first, determining and, optionally, restoring the cluster number; secondly, switching to shortened code combination space by calculating a correcting vector directly linked to the cluster number. The shortened code combination is decoded based on the ordered statistics which enables to switch from a direct code to an equivalent. For quick evaluation of the possibility of switching to an equivalent code, a table of prohibited rearrangements of the generator matrix of the shortened code, which do not enable to obtain equivalent code vectors, is used.
EFFECT: high reliability of receiving information.
