FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water treatment and is intended for mechanical filters to be used at industrial water supply, effluents tertiary treatment stations and drinking water treatment plants. Proposed water cleaner comprises case 1 to accommodate: fine-grain filter bed 2, bearing bed 2 of gravel and flushing device arranged inside of under bed 3 and composed of a set of porous tubes 4 covering the area under bed 2. Solid semitube 5 is arranged inside every porous tube of said set 4 to face with its convex surface directed upward and its end joint with manifold 6 to force water and air therein. Besides, multipath ledges 7 may be made over the length of two lengthwise surfaces of semitube wall.
