FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sawmill equipment and may be used for dressing of logs and dimension timber. Proposed method is implemented with due allowance for possible losses of sawn timber in drying depending upon elastic deformation of plant outer face. Prior to dressing pattern selection, elastic deformation of every plank and dimension timber is defined subject to the distance from log axis to outer face and edges as well as tolerable elastic deformation to forecast the quality of sawn plant after drying. Drying quality may be forecast with the help of diagram plotted using the first mathematical model, or with the help of computer program developed on the basis of the second computer model.
EFFECT: decreased loses of dried timber.
