SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wax emulsion modifiers for concrete and cement mixtures and methods for production thereof. The modifiers are applicable for roller-compacted concrete which is used to make ceiling panels and in dam and road construction. An aqueous emulsion for endowing the cement mixture with initial compression strength of at least 2400 lb/in² contains paraffin hydrocarbon wax, saponified wax, a saponifying agent, a dispersant and water. The method of preparing a cement mixture with initial compression strength of at least 2400 lb/in² involves forming an emulsion consisting of water, paraffin hydrocarbon wax, saponified wax, a saponifying agent and a dispersant, heating the mixture to temperature ranging from 85°C (185°F) to 96.1°C (205°F), homogenising and mixing with dry cement. The cement mixture with initial compression strength of at least 2400 lb/in² contains dry cement and an aqueous emulsion consisting of paraffin hydrocarbon wax, saponified wax, a saponifying agent, a dispersant and water, in which the emulsion is mixed with the mixture and is present in amount of 1-25 gallons per cubic yard of cement.

EFFECT: faster drying of the aqueous phase without loss of strength, high density while maintaining workability during application.
