SUBSTANCE: method comprises attaching the device for monitoring of precipitation of black liquor to the evaporator or the concentrator of pulp plant and measurement of thermal conductivity on the outer surface of this device. The control unit interprets the measured thermal conductivity and determines the level of sediment formation. If the sediment formation level higher than the predetermined level, the control unit can add the composition inhibiting sediment formation to the waste liquor. The composition inhibiting sediment formation comprises (i) one or more fatty acids of vegetable origin, and (ii) one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of polyacrylic acid, polymaleic acid, a copolymer of acrylic acid and maleic acid, and any of their combinations.
