FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing a protein-based foaming agent and can be used in making cement-based porous articles. In the method of preparing a protein-based foaming agent by alkaline hydrolysis of a protein-containing product obtained by fermenting Candida yeast, neutralising the hydrolysate and adding a stabilising additive, the protein-containing product is obtained by adding to whey, which is a dairy waste, a medium which contains Candida utilis yeast in ratio of 20:1 at temperature of 27°C for 3 days; the obtained protein-containing product undergoes alkaline hydrolysis at temperature of 60°C for 120 minutes; the obtained hydrolysate is neutralised with 20% sulphuric acid solution to pH 7.5-8.5; a stabilising additive in form of 15% iron (II) sulphate solution is added to the neutralised hydrolysate which is cooled to room temperature, followed by dilution with water to the required foaming activity.
EFFECT: high foam expansion ratio and stability, low temperature and faster hydrolysis.
