FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for treating water by ozonation and can be used particularly in decontaminating drinking water in water supply systems of cities and population centres and disinfecting recycled pool water. In a three-section contact tank, between the first and second sections, there is an additional inter-section by-pass compartment with a partition wall in the middle, which divides the inter-section compartment into cavities which are linked by a through-channel. Each section is additionally equipped with perforated pipes which are plugged at one end. One group is mounted on top below the water level in the section. The other group is mounted at the bottom of the section under ozone-air mixture dispersers. Open ends of the pipes mounted on top at the water level in the first and second sections are linked with corresponding cavities of the inter-section by-pass compartment. Open ends of the bottom pipes of the first section are linked with a pressure compartment. Bottom pipes of the second and third sections are mated with each other. Upper pipes at the water level of the third section are linked with a drainage compartment.
EFFECT: high quality of drinking water and efficiency of using the produced ozone.
