SECTION OF SEEDER FOR DOTTED-HILL SEEDING OF MELONS AND GOURDS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A01C7/18 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: section of seeder comprises the four-link hinge-lever system for connection to the frame of the seeder, a housing with a seed box, a seeding unit with cells and active guides mounted on the beam, which is attached to the opener based on the gauge-wheel, consisting of a circular blade with flanges, and the opener. The seeding unit is a cellular driving replaceable disk with a low coefficient of friction, mounted at an angle to the horizontal plane greater than the angle of internal friction of seeds. The disk cells are made according to the form and size of seeds of sown culture and placed on a peripheral part of the disk in groups. The groups are located in two rows. The outer row cells are coupled to each other and divided with a jumper, and the inner row cells are covered by the jumpers of the outer row. In the upper part the cells have seed-gripping shield, located in the rear part of the cell, covers the upper part of the cell half the length of the seed and is coupled with the rear wall of the cell to a radius equal to half the length of the cell. The cell length is $$1_c=\mathrm{1,2}{\overline{l}}_s+(\mathrm{1,0}\dots \mathrm{1,5})mm;$$ the cell width is $$b_c={\overline{b}}_s+(\mathrm{1,2}\dots \mathrm{1,6})\text{ mm;}$$ the cell depth is $$\delta ={\overline{\delta }}_s+(\mathrm{0,1}\dots \mathrm{1,6})mm,$$ where $${\overline{l}}_s,$$ $${\overline{b}}_s,$$ $${\overline{\delta }}_s$$ is average length, width and thickness of the seed. On the outer surface of the disk the active guides are made orienting the protrusions with height of 1-3 mm and width of 0.5-1 mm. The disk is based on a tray made of a material with a low coefficient of friction on soaked and germinated seeds of melons and gourds, and is driven by a support-driving wheel of the seeder. The opener comprises a pointed flat hoe attached to a wedge-shaped rack in the alignment at the toe of which a conical furrow-forming wheel is mounted, the cutting edge of which is placed below the cutting plane of the centre hoe. At the rear wall of the wedge-shaped rack a seed-duct is mounted, and behind the pointed flat hoe the height adjustable packer roller in the form of the truncated cones opposing established with the small bases is fixed.
