SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system for controlling the relative position between the printed pattern and non-printed pattern such as, e.g., a pattern of scored lines or holes on a moving web of material by supplying the web of material with at least one mark in the form of the depressed recess with three-dimensional topographical configuration at a predetermined distance from the printed register mark and detection of these marks by the same system of controlling sensor. This feature of the method and system of controlling enables to use them for production of multilayer packaging material having a printed design and scored lines of folding in register.
EFFECT: providing opportunity of continuous tracking of the relative position between the printed and non-printed pattern and the three-dimensional structure or pattern, such as a scored lines and/or holes or perforations.
