FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has a capturing optical system, the principal point of which moves between a first position and a second position in the direction of the optical axis of the capturing system. An acceleration detector determines acceleration applied to the device for image stabilisation, and is placed between the first and second positions of the principal point. An angular velocity detector determines angular velocity applied to the device for image stabilisation. A unit for calculating the angular velocity of turning determines the component of angular velocity of turning about the principal point of the capturing system based on the value from the angular velocity detector. A unit for calculating the angular velocity of circular motion determines the component of angular velocity of circular motion around the object based on values from the acceleration detector and the unit for calculating angular velocity of turning. A control unit controls image stabilisation based on the difference between components of angular velocities of turning and circular motion.

EFFECT: preventing image quality deterioration by correcting image blurring caused by shaking.
