FIELD: rescue equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device for descending from height relates to individual reusable rescue equipment in conditions of the same fire. The device comprises a housing provided with a clevis for fixing the lifebelt, the rope in the form of a ribbon, and a braking means made in the form of a fastener "zipper". At that the zipper teeth are attached to both sides of the ribbon covering the housing made in the form of a cylinder which center has a hemispherical shape of larger diameter than the ends of the cylinder. At that, two locks of the fastener are located symmetrically from the center of the housing and are pivotally connected with rods to the brake lever, which one side is provided with a hole through which the clevis mounting axis is passed and the other one has a free travel in both directions along the housing with the ability of transmitting motion through the rods to the locks.

EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability of the device during long-term storage, and also enables to make the device suitable for rescue of people one by one in conditions of the same fire.
