FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: rear layer plate is made from steel containing the following, wt %: 0.12-0.18 C, 0.10-0.19 Si, 1.2-1.6 Mn, 1.0-1.4 Ni, 0.25-0.45 Mo, 0.02-0.06 Al, 0.02-0.16 Ti, 0.001-0.032 Ca, 0.005- 0.015 P, not more than 0.01 S, and Fe is the rest; with that, total content of Si+P does not exceed 0.21 wt %, hot rolling of plates is performed both in transverse and longitudinal directions with total reduction of cross-sectional area in each of the directions of not less than 50%, rolling is finished at the temperature of 930-1050°C and plates are cooled with water from that temperature, and annealing is performed at the temperature of 250-460°C.
EFFECT: improving armour characteristics of protective armour design.
