FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building. Proposed method comprises programmed multipass hot rolling of spring blank every half at horizontal rolls at controlled front tension and deformation of spring sides at vertical rolls. Total widening at rolling at horizontal rolls is predefined to reduce spring blank in width by total widening value at vertical gaged rolls, their shape complying with preset shape of spring side surface while the length of spring elements is calculated by mathematical formulae separately for variable-and permanent-thickness elements. Second and further passes are executed at horizontal rolls. Thereafter, spring width is measured to correct reduction magnitude at vertical rolls.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of proposed process and quality of finished products.
