FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: charge is heated by smelting furnace offgas with temperature of 1850-1900°C prior to loading into smelting furnace. Charge is loaded into smelting furnace at the rate of 0.5-1.5 t/h per 1 MW of heat power of fuel-oxygen furnace burners. Carbide reducing agent is loaded in amount of 20-21% of carbon of the mass of iron oxide in lumps on melt surface and is injected as powder in amount of 4-5% of carbon of the charge iron oxides into melt. After poll is completely filled, charge loading into smelting furnace is interrupted for 8-12 minutes to cure the melt at injecting carbide reducing agent therein. After curing, 50-70% of titaniferous slag and 60-75% of accumulated iron are poured out separately to resume charge loading.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, lower material and power costs.
