FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in designing up-maker cars and serves to inform the driver on ICE operating conditions. Proposed air cleaner comprises airtight membranes with resilient elements, their intrinsic frequencies of oscillation form increasing sequence of frequencies (f1, f2, f3…fm) wherein every other high frequency differs from previous lower frequency by not more than half the octave formed about central tuning frequency (fc). Membrane oscillation intrinsic frequencies form geometrical progression with ratio q not exceeding q=2B/m, where m in number of membranes, and are located about central tuning frequency fc in compliance with formulae (1-3) tn+1=tn·q (1), where: N is membrane number, f1 (Hz) is lowest intrinsic frequency defined by formula (2) f1=fc·2-B/2√q (2), where B is sound amplification bandwidth in octaves. Note here that angle of losse Fi in their resilient elements makes Fi=(0-8-1.2)·B/m (3).
EFFECT: enlarged information content of ICE sounds in car cabin.
