FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: in environs of pedestrian activity they select and mark a L-shaped route of calibration, made in the form of two horizontal rectilinear orthogonal sections, in the first section they provide for good accuracy of positioning for a global navigation system. During calibration the pedestrian moves in direct and reverse direction in each section of the route, they calculate magnetic azimuths Am of pedestrian movement by a magnetic compass, they calculate true azimuths of sections Au: in the first section by signals of the global navigation system, and in the second one - according to its orthogonality to the first section, they calculate differences of the specified magnetic and true azimuths ΔA=AMAU during movement in each section of the route, they approximate these differences with a function which is used during time of pedestrian work for production of the true azimuth of its movement.

EFFECT: increased accuracy.
