FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to demagnetization of ship for protection against magnetic mines and magnetic means of its detection. For automatic demagnetization of ship includes determination of currents of demagnetizing windings as per results of measurements of magnetic induction by onboard three-component magnetometers, permanent demagnetizing windings by magnetic induction, as well as induction of MFE in system of coordinates of ship. Currents are determined from the condition of minimization of sum of squares of differences of similar components of each onboard magnetometer and MFE, and constants by magnetic induction of windings are determined for points of arrangement of sensors of onboard magnetometers.

EFFECT: continuous minimization of ship demagnetization error during navigation and expansion of possibility of control of each separate section during navigation and adjustment of demagnetizing system.
