FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in a downhole seismic tool, having a sealed housing and a controlled clamping device which is in form of a clamp lever, the housing of the tool on the side opposite the lever is coaxially rigidly attached to at least one removable shoe, which is in form of a thin plate which can bend under the action of a clamping force applied thereon by the clamp lever. The downhole tool comes into contact with the well wall through the end of the clamp lever and lateral edges of the thin plate. Presence of the plate, the width of which is greater than the diameter of the downhole tool and the length of which is comparable with that of the tool, provides reliable contact of said plate with rocks as the diameter of the well varies at different depths. Owing to that the width of the plate is taken close to the well diameter, the force applied by the clamp lever is transmitted through the edges of the plate to the well wall such that horizontal components of said force prevent the emergence of parasitic rotational vibrations of the tool relative the line of contact with the well wall.
EFFECT: more reliable contact with the medium and high quality of material detected on horizontal components of seismic records.
