FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: gas turbine engine noise reduction system exhaust silencer arranged nearby exhaust duct, cooling air duct and means to create cooling air flow in said duct. Exhaust silencer comprises multiple baffle plates communicated with exhaust duct. Cooling air flow stays in thermal contact with exhaust silencer and is arranged between its outer surface and outer skin. Exhaust silencer fills annular space between exhaust duct and outer skin except for channel. Note here that, in compliance with one version, said channel has orifice in exhaust channel end plane while said means to create cooling air flow in said duct can suck air in through said orifice. In compliance with second version, discharge opening is arranged in exhaust channel orifice plane while means to create cooling air flow in said duct can force cooling air into aforesaid channel and from discharge opening into ambient air. Exhaust silencer multiple baffle plates communicated with exhaust channel are arranged around exhaust channel. Cooling air is forced via cooling air channel to remove heat from exhaust silencer. Note here that, in compliance with said first version, cooling air is sucked in channel from said orifice adjacent the exhaust channel open tail end to release cooling air to front end of said channel. In compliance with second version, air released from channel front end in discharge air in open tail end of exhaust channel.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of noise suppression.
