FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to resin industry. elm processing comprises loading elm into apparatus, drying, pyrolysis and condensation of tar vapors and tar. Note here that live steam is fed to pyrolysis zone at 130°C and 1.8-2.0 kgf/cm2. Note also that drying is executed by feeding used noncondensable gases produced in elm pyrolysis.
EFFECT: higher process efficiency and elm quality.
