SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of providing video on demand (VOD) services using a Blu-ray disc player and a computer-readable medium with a program for implementing said method. The method comprises steps of preparing VOD data, inputting the VOD data onto a BD, preparing a menu of VOD selections and VOD metadata using the VOD data read from the BD. The VOD data are sent to a content server which is configured to use said data to select available items for display in the menu of VOD selections. A content item is delivered from the content server selected by the user in the menu of VOD selections. The BD player is configured to use VOD data to provide a VOD service.
EFFECT: wider range of means of providing VOD service.
