FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: nanopowder of a rare-earth element orthophosphate is obtained through precipitation from an aqueous solution of a rare-earth element nitrate obtained by dissolving a rare-earth element oxide in nitric acid, said oxide being lanthanum oxide or a mixture of oxides of rare-earth elements: Dy, Ho, Lu, Y. Precipitation is carried out with aqueous solution of monosubstituted ammonium phosphate (NH4H2PO4) at pH 7-8. The obtained precipitate is held in the mother solution for 12-48 hours depending on the selected mixture of rare-earth element oxides. The obtained nanopowder of a rare-earth element orthophosphate is subjected to vacuum drying at 90-110°C for 55-65 minutes, pressed at pressure of 7-10 MPa and sintered in air at temperature of 1000-1300°C for 24-48 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining a single-phase nanosized precipitate, which provides good sintering capacity of the ceramic even at low temperatures and obtaining a ceramic with high microhardness, low porosity and high crack resistance.
