At engine starting, engine runs under constricted operating conditions unless a right safety code is sent to controller. Method of vehicle operation comprises the steps whereat vehicle safety module with single and continuous safety modes is provided. Vehicle is configured for operation with single safety mode. Engine output is limited to the level lower than variator engagement rate unless said right safety code is output. Reception of said right safety code disconnects safety control module solely for current starting and permits engine operation under standard conditions.
