FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a hardware system, having a signal measuring unit having a ship-towed receiving multi-electrode line with receiving non-polarisable electrodes, buoys for holding the receiving lines mounted on the ship, a Global Position System (GPS) receiving indicator and a processor. The hardware system further includes telemetric measuring modules that are capable of digitising signals from pairs of receiving electrodes on all offsets of the section, additional GPS receiving indicators mounted on the buoys. Also disclosed is a marine electrical exploration method carried out using said hardware system. Signals at pairs of receiving electrodes of the receiving line are measured simultaneously in time and frequency domains during both current pulses and intervals in between said pulses. Data inversion is also carried out simultaneously in the frequency and time domains.

EFFECT: high accuracy of exploration data.
