FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building. A lantern wheel reducer of external gearing comprises a lantern wheel (2) installed on a master shaft (1) with teeth in the form of lanterns (5), having the shape of round cylinders and capable of their rotation relative to their longitudinal axes. On a slave shaft (3), parallel to a master shaft (1), there is a slave wheel (4) with teeth, the shape of slots (6) between which is arranged as equidistant to an epicycloid. In the slave wheel (4) inside each of teeth there is a movable damper in the form of a spring-loaded bent channel. The working surface (7) of each slot (6) is made is concave with the possibility to roll in an appropriate lantern (5) into the slot (6) along the tangent to its working surface (7). Cross dimensions of each slot (6) are selected as exceeding the diameter of the lanterns (5) to form a gap between the surface (8), opposite to the working surface (7), and a rolling-in lantern (5).
EFFECT: reducer has high operational efficiency due to reduction of losses for friction in tooth gearing, which helps to increase efficiency of a mechanism, lower wear of surfaces (7, 8) of teeth, smoothness of travel, low level of noise, possibility of reverse, reduced probability of wedging of a mechanism, expanded possibilities for selection of different angular speeds of wheels.
