DEVICE FOR FEEDING SAMPLES INTO CAPILLARY COLUMN Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G01N30/00

Abstract RU 2511618 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical instrument making and can be used in gas chromatographs to feed samples into a capillary column. The device consists of a glass tube placed in a metal housing in form of a bushing, in the bottom part of which there is a nozzle for connecting a column and a channel for discharging part of the sample, connected through a three-way tap and an entrainment filter with a back pressure control, the pressure sensor of which is connected to the channel for discharging part of the sample, and the input of its proportional valve is connected to the output of the entrainment filter. The top part of the housing has a flange for sealing the glass tube upon mounting the flange of the head of the device, having a coaxial opening for inserting a syringe needle, as well as a diaphragm sealed with a coupling nut, and there are channels for supplying carrier gas and releasing the stream of carrier gas washing the diaphragm, connected to electronic carrier gas flow controllers. The output of the channel for discharging part of the sample is connected to the first input of the three-way tap, the second input of which is connected to the atmosphere and the third input is connected to the input of the entrainment filter, the output of which is connected to the proportional valve of the electronic back pressure control. The head of the device is fitted with a thermal isolating device in form of cavities which separate the diaphragm zone from the flange zone, wherein the channel for realising the stream of carrier gas washing the diaphragm is situated in the body of the head under the diaphragm and is connected to the opening for inserting the syringe needle, and the carrier gas channel is made in the flange of the head and is connected with spacing between the outer surface of the glass tube and the inner surface of the cylindrical cavity in the body of the head of the device.

EFFECT: high accuracy of analysis and implementing several sample input methods.
