FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention belongs to measuring equipment, in particular, it can be applied to measurement of weight of cryogenic liquids in metal reservoirs. The method of definition of amount of dielectric liquid in a metal reservoir, at which in the first cycle of measurements they radiate electromagnetic waves of the fixed frequency of f1, for which length of a wave λ1 in free space is less than the characteristic size of a cavity, into the space limited to a metal cover of the reservoir, cyclically they change cavity configuration, a part of capacity of the electromagnetic field is taken from the reservoir, and the average value of the capacity P1 in the cycle is produced from the electromagnetic field on the wave length λ1. Thus in addition, in the second cycle of measurements, they perform radiation of electromagnetic waves of fixed frequency of f2, for which length of a wave λ2 in free space is less than the characteristic size of the reservoir, in the space limited to a metal cover of the reservoir, with the volume reduced by the fixed value ΔV in comparison with volume of V0 of a cavity in the first cycle of measurements, they measure the average value of the cycle in the reservoir P2 regarding the electromagnetic field on the wave length λ2, they carry out joint conversion P1 and P2.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement.
