FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum refining and can be used for production of petroleum softeners with low content of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). The invention pertains to production of petroleum softener by treatment of residual extract of asphalt-free oil treated by phenol from PAH by a liquid extract where for the purpose of liquid extraction process the selective solvent is used with the following composition, % by weight: acetanilide - 40-50, dimethyl formamide or dimethyl sulphoxide - remaining part.
EFFECT: producing of environmentally safe petroleum softener complying with requirements of Directive 2005/69/EC to PAH content not exceeding 3% by weight.
