SUBSTANCE: refrigerator comprises at least the first and the second chambers for storing food products and a refrigeration circuit for cooling the said chambers, which comprises at least one compressor. In the chambers different temperatures are maintained: in the first chamber, which is a cooling chamber, a higher temperature is maintained, and in the second chamber, which is a freezing chamber, a lower temperature is maintained. The method comprises the following steps: b) switching off the compressor for a time period, c) discharge of the cold air flow from the freezing chamber and feeding it into the cooling chamber for maintaining the temperature of the latter within a temperature range defined by the first and second limit values (T_fmin, T_fmax). The time interval, during which the compressor is switched off, is such that the temperature in the freezing chamber does not exceed the third predetermined limit value (T_sup).

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions enables to increase the time, during which the compressor is disconnected.
