SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refrigerator and method for controlling same. The refrigerator comprises a body, a cooled air supply means, a temperature sensor and a controller. The body comprises a storage compartment. The cooled air supply means is designed to be capable of functioning for supplying cooled air to a storage compartment. The controller is capable of controlling the performance of the cooled air supply means on the basis of the difference between the given temperature and the current temperature determined by means of a temperature sensor and increasing or decreasing the temperature of the storage compartment determined by means of a temperature sensor at a given time interval. The controller is capable of determining the performance of the cooled air supply means on the basis of the first factor which is an increase or decrease in the storage compartment temperature determined by means of a temperature sensor, determining the performance of the cooled air supplt means based on the second factor which is the difference between the given temperature and the current temperature and then ultimately determining whether the performance of the cooled air supply means increases, is maintained or decreases according to the results based on the first factor and the second factor.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increase in time for preserving freshness of products stored in a refrigerator.
