SUBSTANCE: absorbent body for an absorbent product used for the absorption of menstrual discharge, or blood and vaginal discharge, comprising a carrier layer containing first and second surfaces, an adhesive layer containing first and second surfaces, an absorbent polymer layer between the carrier layer and the adhesive layer, containing first and second surfaces; the second surface of the absorbent polymer layer is in contact with the first surface of the carrier layer, while the first surface of the absorbent polymer layer is in contact with the second surface of the adhesive layer; the absorbent body contains a foam layer. The above foam is specified from a group consisting of melamine foams, polyurethane foams and foams of high dispersed phase emulsions (HDPE); the foam is 0.5 mm to 3 mm thick, preferentially 1 mm to 2 mm thick, and has a specific volume of 20 cm³/g to 200 cm³/g, preferentially has a specific volume of 50 cm³/g to 150 cm³/g, more preferentially has a specific volume of 80 cm³/g to 120 cm³/g.
