FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to digital image processing means. In the method, a multi-centre scanning (MCS) initial mesh is represented by a discrete square of nine cells; the initial mesh is scanned from the centre to the edge of the square and then while bypassing the remaining meshes around a circle; the priority is the path with the bypass direction to the left side from the centre of the square and then clockwise; the formed structure is a facet (pFas), where p is the recursion step, if p=1, the initial mesh described above is present; four types of bypassing are distinguished to construct the furthest recursion directions: bypass w1 as the initial (1Fas1), bypass w2 as the mirror from 1Fas1 to the left side (1Fas2), bypass w3 as the mirror from 1Fas2 upwards (1Fas3), bypass w4 as the mirror from 1Fas3 to the right side; bypass is performed successively with initial movement to the square to the left from 1Fas and then clockwise around 1Fas.
EFFECT: high degree of image compression without losses.
