FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to monitoring of technical state of oil and gas equipment and can be used at monitoring of paraffin accumulation on an inner pipeline wall. The present invention implies the method for measuring the material deposit thickness on the inner wall of a structure transferring a flow of hydrocarbon fluid. The method involves usage of the first heat pulse or of continuous heating at minimum one first section of the structure to remove deposits on the inner wall of the structure's first section. The second heat pulse is applied to the structure' first section and to at least one second section of the structure. The first and the second sections are distanced from each other, and the heat pulse does not decrease any material deposits in the second section. Temperature of the structure wall or fluid is measured during the second heat pulse at the first and the second sections. Basing on the measured temperature the thickness of material deposits on the inner structure wall at the second section is determined. The present invention relates also to the respective device for the implementation of the method for deposit thickness measurement and to the method for the deposits removal from the pipeline walls.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of determining the thickness of deposits on the inner pipeline wall.
