FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with, at least, one olefin, which has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, with catalyst under alkylation conditions. Catalyst contains microporous crystalline zeolite UZM-37, which has space frame of, at least, tetrahedral AlO2 and SiO2 units. Empiric composition of synthesised zeolite in water-free state is expressed by empirical formula: M m + R r + Al 1-x E x Si y O z , where M stands for sodium or combination of exchange-able potassium and sodium cations, R represents singly charged ammonium-organic cation of propyltrimethylammonium, E is an element, selected from group, consisting of gallium, iron, boron and their mixtures. Said zeolites are characterised by unique X-ray diffractogram and composition.

EFFECT: zeolite provides and supports high degree of conversion of olefins, such as ethylene and propylene, high selectivity to monoalkylated products, such as ethylbenzene and cumene, and high general selectivity of alkylation in the entire range of molar ratios benzene-olefins.
