FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: photodetector includes an optical system having at least two objective lenses and a photosensitive device on its focal surface, said device being in form of groups of digital photosensitive matrices corresponding to the number of objective lenses. Matrices of each group are arranged in a row with intervals. In the first version, the intervals do not exceed the product of the number of effective pixels and the pixel size of one matrix on its axis of symmetry, directed along the row, multiplied by the number of groups minus one. Groups of matrices are arranged in parallel rows. Matrices of one group are offset relative to the matrices of another group along the direction of their row by a value which is not greater than the maximum interval between matrices in a row. In the second version, matrices of each group are arranged in a row with intervals along the axis on which like axes of symmetry of the matrices lie. Axes of rows of matrices of different groups are arranged in parallel planes, the projections of optical axes of the objective lenses on which form an angle in radians with each other, where said angle is not greater than the fraction from dividing the distance between neighbouring matrices in a row by the product of the number of objective lenses and the focal distance thereof.
EFFECT: larger capturing format while reducing geometric and chromatic distortions.
