METHOD OF PRODUCING A CONTINUOUS STEREO IMAGE OF THE EARTH'S SURFACE FROM A MOVING CARRIER Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01C11/00

Abstract RU 2686513 C1

FIELD: photogrammetry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote probing of the Earth, in particular to stereoscopic photography of the earth's surface, and can be used for photogrammetry, monitoring of vast spaces and extended objects, large-scale topographic surveys and design and survey works. Disclosed method of producing a continuous stereo image of a terrestrial surface from a moving carrier involves photographing the surface to obtain successive frames having overlapping along the movement of the carrier of at least 51 %. Ratio of the frame width to its length is maintained within 1:5…100. Fame are subjected to joint triangulation, and then frame orthorectification. Thereafter, each frame is cut in half along a line oriented across the direction of movement of the carrier. Half-frames of the same name located on one side of the cut line are stitched into a single web of the image of the area, thus obtaining two webs which are laid on each other and aligned along the lines of the cuts of the frames.

EFFECT: obtaining a high degree of stereo image effect on the entire field of continuous shooting from a long distance, as well as reducing the likelihood of obtaining a blurred image.
