FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: turbine labyrinth seal consists of a stator flange installed at a nozzle blade and a labyrinth installed between the disks and the turbine. Sealing ridges are set on the external surface of the labyrinth. Each of the ridges consists of external rectangular and conical parts turned to the flange. Inner part of the sealing ridge which is rectangular in cross-section is placed on the opposite inner surface of the labyrinth. The labyrinth consists of a front labyrinth set at the turbine disk upstream the flow and a rear labyrinth set at the turbine disk downstream the flow, with the joint of the labyrinths and on the inner surface of the rectangular part of the sealing ridge at the rear labyrinth. The ratio of the total height H of a sealing ridge including its rectangular part placed on the inner labyrinth surface to the radial clearance y between the labyrinth and the flange falls within the range of 6-12. The ratio of the total height H to the radial height h of the inner rectangular part of the ridge falls within the range of 2-5. The ratio of the total height H to the axial thickness L of the rectangular ridge part falls within the range of 2-6.
EFFECT: labyrinth seal reliability is increased by reducing the temperature of the labyrinth sealing ridges.
