FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: coating material is pulverised from a spraying nozzle for atmospheric plasma spraying in the outflow direction. The nozzle (4) at one axial end comprises a cap piece (19) from which protective gas (28) can bleed in the outflow direction (25). The end face surface (31) of the cap piece (19) is equipped by several outlet holes (13) or several slots (14) for the protective gas (28). The spraying nozzle is fitted with a hard outer and/or inner cover. The cap piece (19) is not made from porous material. The spraying nozzle is used for the implementation of the method to apply coating onto an article. The plasma spraying nozzle providing for plasma spraying with protective gas allows for the application of easily oxidisable metal coating in the atmosphere as well.
EFFECT: possibility to obtain significantly greater roughness and better morphology of a coating layer in hard-to-reach places, simplified installation and de-installation.
