SUBSTANCE: apparatus for detecting millimetre waves includes optical devices (30, 50, 60), used to receive millimetre wave radiation from a detected object and collect the received millimetre waves; a radiometric receiving device (80) used to receive the energy of the collected millimetre waves and convert the energy of the millimetre waves into an electrical signal; and an imaging device used to form a thermal image of the detected object according to the electrical signal.

EFFECT: enabling safe inspection of a person using a device with a simple and compact design.
