UNIT FOR RUNNING IN AND OUT OF CONTINUOUS STEEL PIPES Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC E21B19/00

Abstract RU 2522109 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: unit for running in and out of continuous steel pipes comprises a hoisting device with a feed mechanism mounted on a vehicle chassis, a drum with the central shaft for a flexible pipe winding placed on supports and a drum levelwind for steel pipes. In the vehicle chassis there is a cavity, preferably closed from the ground side and the drum is installed so that the part of its peripheral area faced to the vehicle chassis is placed in the above cavity, preferably in the plane parallel to the vehicle chassis through the wheel centrelines. A distance from the drum rotation axis up to the top plane of the frame of the vehicle chassis is as a minimum two, and preferably two and more, times larger than the distance from the bottom point of the drum rim in the above cavity up to the top plane of the vehicle chassis. The supports for the drum shaft intended for the flexible pipe winding are designed with a capability of changing the position height of the drum shaft from the vehicle chassis. The drum position height is changed as far as a pipe is winded off/up from/on the drum preferably discretely, after winding off/up of the next pipe layer. The drum is coupled kinematically to the supports height selector mainly by its shaft. In the design version the drum supports are made telescopic, consisting of at least two parts, a movable part and a fixed one. The fixed parts of the above supports are fixed rigidly to the vehicle chassis. The drum is coupled kinematically to change the height of the supports by means of a bevel gear, which gear pinions are mounted at its shaft ends. The support height selector is made as a reduction gear, preferably as a multiple-reduction gear unit mounted on the fixed part of the support. The output shaft of the reduction gear is made as a screw interacting with a nut from a screw-nut pair. The nut of the above pair is fixed rigidly in the fixed part of the support. An axial stroke L of the screw in its one turn is equal to the pipe diameter dpipe, while the screw turn number for one pipe layer winding/unwinding is determined by the following ratio: n s = n d d p i p e S d , where: ns is the screw turn number; nd is the drum turn number for one pipe layer winding/unwinding; dpipe is the pipe diameter; Sd is the drum width at the point of the pipe winding.

EFFECT: improving operating reliability.
