FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing N-nitrosodiphenylamine involves nitrosation of diphenylamine with nitric acid salts in a medium of an organic solvent in the presence of an acid, washing the mixture and drying. The organic solvent used is still residue of tetrachloromethane which is a waste from production of chloromethanes. Nitrosation is followed by dividing the mixture into an aqueous phase and an organic phase, washing the organic phase with water to extract water-soluble mineral salts and the organic solvent is distilled off during drying.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain N-nitrosodiphenylamine with high output with a considerably simpler and cheaper process.
