FIELD: organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: multi-stage method for synthesis of p-nitrosophenol. At stage a), the reactor is filled with water and an aqueous solution of sodium nitrite and an aqueous solution of phenol are fed into the reactor to obtain a reaction mixture, while maintaining the pH value of the reaction mixture not exceeding 3, maintaining the temperature in the reactor at 2-7 °C, and a gas stream is supplied to the reactor to create an inert atmosphere. At stage b), the reaction mixture is stirred to obtain a mother liquor and a precipitate, and then, at stage c), the mother liquor and the precipitate are fed to a filter to separate the precipitate from the mother liquor. At stage d), the precipitate is washed with water in the filter and the precipitate is dried in a vacuum, and precipitate washing with water shall continue at least until the pH of the water used for washing is 5-6. At stage e), the precipitate is washed with an organic solvent, and then, at stage e), the organic solvent used in stage e) is taken to the next chemical stage or to the stage of separating p-nitrosophenol from it.

EFFECT: continuous method for producing p-nitrosophenol, reducing production time and energy costs for obtaining the target product and the by-products, simplifying the process, producing p-nitrosophenol with a purity of more than 95%, as well as reducing the amount of liquid wastes and the need for their disposal.
