FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: gaseous mixture of ethane and oxygen, taken in volume ratio of 60-70 and 30-40, respectively, is brought into contact with a catalyst heated to 400-450°C, said catalyst being a double-layer composition in form of a mixed oxide Mo1.0V0.37Te0.17Nb0.12O3, placed in a flow reactor at the gaseous material inlet, and zeolite HZSM-5, placed further downstream the material, wherein the catalyst components are taken in volume ratio of 20-30 and 70-80, respectively, and the process is carried out at atmospheric pressure and volume rate of feeding the gaseous material of 1000-2000 h-1.
EFFECT: use of the present method enables to achieve higher conversion of ethane and higher output of aromatic hydrocarbons while considerably lowering the process temperature and prolonging stable operation of the catalyst.
