SUBSTANCE: cartridge for printing material comprises: a memory device; a plurality of first terminals through which the power voltage and signals for controlling the memory device are supplied from the printing device; and a plurality of second terminals used for determining the states of attachment of the cartridge for printing material in the module of the cartridge attachment. The plurality of first terminals has a plurality of first contact sites which come into contact with the corresponding terminals of the device side when the container for printing material is attached properly to the module of the cartridge attachment. The plurality of second terminals has a plurality of second contact sites that come into contact with the corresponding terminals of the device side when the container for printing material is attached properly to the module of the cartridge attachment. The plurality of first and second contact sites is located so that they form a first row and a second row. Four contact sites of the plurality of the second contact sites are located on both ends of the first and second rows, respectively.
EFFECT: providing ability to assess the state of attachment of the cartridges or their circuit boards by checking the adequacy of contact between the terminals of the memory device for the cartridge or the terminals of the circuit board and the corresponding terminals at the side of the device.
