FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: expanding collet chuck is designed in the form of a collet, blades of which are equipped with conical areas from an inner side. A tension rod with a head, conjugated by their periphery with conical portions of blades, is placed in the cavity of the collet. The tension rod is joined with the nut on the chuck body by means of a pin placed into the annular groove inside the nut. The pin range is adjusted by an oval groove in the chuck body.
EFFECT: minimisation of a value of error of the cross-sectional shapes when cutting an exterior thread.
