FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: person being tested is presented with stereoscopic pairs in the form of Gabor lattice with smoothly varying disparity under visual field separation. A stereoscopic vision threshold whereat the person being tested perceives the stereopair as a single image of the lattice moving towards or from the person being tested is measured. The derived measured near and far thresholds are used to determine a range of the stereoscopic vision depth as a difference of these values. The testing is repeated, and a decrease of the range of the stereoscopic vision depths shows a degree of eye fatigue.

EFFECT: method enables determining the range of stereoscopic vision depth that is ensured by using the stereopairs in the form of Gabor lattice with smoothly varying disparity.
